Walt.

FAQ

  • Can we submit things?
Yes of course you can as long it’s your stuff! No stealing or resposting. If you do I’ll have to hunt you down.
  • Why Walt Disney?
He basically created this whole Disney concept, ya know?
  • Was Walt anti-semitic/racist/etc?
There is NO SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE that Walt was an anti-semite. Walt shared a lot of beliefs of conservative America so I do see him exhibiting some prejudice with ethnic groups or people who differed in sexual orientation. I don’t plan to paint a picture of a perfect man because that would be a lie. Walt, like any historical figure, is problematic and always worth taking a second look.
  • Was Walt a harsh boss/ cruel man?
Walt Disney was indeed a demanding boss and was difficult to please. However his workers respected him and all confessed to be fond of him. He was never cruel, though.
  • Did Walt smoke?
Yep, quite heavily. It was his vice.
  • Where do you get your Walt info/pictures?
For posts and pics, mostly reblogs or google itself! My info comes from books I’ve read about him or the documentary Walt: The Man Behind the Myth. Please correct me if I’m wrong!
  • Why do you like Walt so much if he was ______?
No one is purely good or purely bad. Clearly Walt had faults but was also full of hopes and dreams. What I heavily admire about him was his tenacity and capacity to throw himself to something and pull through. He took great big risks and never gave up. That’s worth admiring.

He is best known for being a film producer, director and screenwriter to many Disney films. However he was also true entrepreneur and philanthropist. Contrary to popular belief Walt was not a very good drawer and he DID NOT draw Mickey Mouse (which came from the hand of Ub Iwerks),however he did come up with the character and conception. Walt enjoyed Polo and traveling. And he also had a fascination with trains.
